I have a L3400HST 4WD serial 64333. Today it developed a large fuel leak. I shut it down within a minute. There are 3 lines on the fuel filter assembly. The top line was connected to the filter assembly but the other end was disconnected and the source of the leak. I'm not sure if this line is for the tank fuel connection or part of the bleed system. The leak stopped as soon as I elevated the free end as high as it would go. I could not find where it connects. Pictures on pages 54 and 65 in op manual were close but not specific enough for me. Visual issues make it difficult for me to see well in a dark engine compartment surrounded by full sun (even with a flashlight). Thanks for any help!

Look behind the radiator fluid reservoir and on the fire wall you will see two small ( ports ) nipples. That line probably came off one of those nipples. They are a pain to get too. There is a small wire clip that holds the gas line on the nipple. Hope this is your problem, cheap fix this time. Let us know what you find.

I just looked at mine.

If you are standing on the side of the tractor that has the fuel filter looking at it....

The hose coming in horizontal from the left goes back under the fuel tank. This is the supply. I dont think you are talking about this one.

The one to the right and running horizontal goes to the pump. I dont think you are talking about this one either.

The one on top and running vertical goes up to the "firewall" and onto a port right beside another hose. IT "appears" to be a tank vent about midway up the tank.

My guess would be that if you had under half a tank of fuel, it wouldnt leak.

Thanks LD1 and Rocksprings. You nailed it. It certainly was a cheap fix this time. RodRussell

No problemo

I had same problem with my B2630 last night. Plowed snow for two hours starting with a full tank. When I finished, I looked at fuel gauge and saw that it was reading Empty. Then noticed some dripping fuel from below tank. Just glad that tractor was in the barn and not out in the lane.

Anyway I had to reconnect that hose that runs from the top of the filter to tank again with that small wire clip. Needed to remove hood to get access as connections are behind firewall directly into side of top of the fuel tank.

Any ideas out there what the function of that hose is???
