OK, I've just passed the 200 hour mark and per the manual I'm supposed to drain all the hydraulic fluid, replace the filters and put the drained fluid back in. The manual does not call for new fluid and I'm not looking to spend more than I need to.
Has anyone done this on an L3400? Is it necessary to pull all the plugs and drain all the fluid? Is it possible to just switch the filter out as quick as possible and put a quart or two back in after some spills out into a carefully placed pan?
I know I've read about people changing these filters on other models but couldn't find anything about it for the L2800/L3400. I did see that jFay shimmed his relief valve on his L3300 with the aid of shop vac and didn't loose a drop of oil, anyone try that with an L3400 filter?
