I have a friend that is looking at a L3400 and has some questions that I haven't been able to answer. I want to know if these things are available from the dealer as factory.
Can you get telescopic end links?
Can you get a folding ROPS?
What is the seat like? Is it a suspension seat?
On the transmission, is the shuttle that has the shuttle only in low range, the only transmission available?
What size of R-4’s come on the L3400?

One more. With the Corp. policy about sales, there are not many dealers posting prices on the net. What type of price have some of you been paying in the last 6 months for a L3400 and loader?

Jerry,

I have an L2800, which is the same machine with a different engine.
I can't answer all of your questions right now ... it's dark outside and I'm old and tired. But tonight I'll tell you that yes, folding ROPS is an option I have. The shuttle is quick and smooth between L and R, but not much slower from H to R, and is the only trans available. The seat is suspended and adjustable, and well shaped. I don't know about telescopic end links, but if you can wait until tomorrow I'll give you the tire sizes then. Please tell your friend to feel free to send me a PM with any questions if he/she wants. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Here's the numbers on the tires;

Front, 27 x 850 - 15NHS
Rear, 15 x 19.5 - NHS

Hope this helps.

I have a L3000dt and looked into the telescopic links and was told they have them for the L3000dt. they are a little pricey as i remember. but in the long run would be worth it .

Thanks guys. It doesn't appear that very many members here, have this model. I did a few searches and found very little of the information that I wanted. Your answers will help. Thanks again.

Jerry, I've noticed the same thing. I've said this before, but I think the L2800/3400 series doesn't generate much talk yet for 2 reasons;
1. they're new for this year
2. the dealers don't push them because they are a basic machine, probably with a basic (read: uninspiring) dealer markup.
My own perspective, having shopped fpr a while, is that the L series is a great deal for a basic tractor for the money. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's a practical workhorse, nothin' fancy. I certainly saw alot of machines that cost more or the same and couldn't do as much work. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif It's all a matter of priorities.
