I’m new to this site, I’m sure there is a thread but can’t find it. Have a new to me L3400, running great, but on a couple an occasions it has stopped moving. Like stuck in neutral, but moving levers around it started moving again. This time can’t get it to move. Gear drive, the clutch feels fine. When shifting I hear the gears grinding and meshing and when shifting the forward H/L reverse shifter I feel a slight movement in the wheels but no movement? Pro works as does the bucket. Kubota dealer not much help. Suggestion?

How many hours? Has the clutch ever been adjusted? Whats the clutch free play?
Only issues I ever had with the L3400 shifting (or dad that I sold it to and now has ~1500hrs) is that sometimes the H-L-R range lever would get stuck. Like one of the linkages it was moving didnt make it back to neutral before trying to engage the other. But thats all external and you can see it below the lever.
But that wouldnt allow you to move that lever at all as it would bind. But that dont sound like what you are describing

- Kubotas B2710, M6800, L6060 cab, Volvo EC excavator, 2 ZTRs and various implements.
Check the linkage to see if bent, or even a pin has fallen out of it. Would be best to have a person in the seat working it while you was watching the linkage.
It is possible the clutch is bad or needs adjusting.
Are you totally sure you are getting the range and gear levels fully shifted in place, back to my first suggestion.
I am thinking the pto uses the same clutch plate as the transmission but it may have different disk on the plate for the pto.

- Kubota B8200, then a Kubota L3130 HST, now a Kubota L3400 HST
Checking the linkages and clutch free play is a good place to start. If all else fails, put it into a gear, with the engine off, jack up the rear wheels and see if the wheels turn. If so, it isn't in gear, or the clutch isn't engaging.
