L345 2WD TLB

Ok... I gave up on the L2850 (thanks for the advice!) and now there is this L345 coming up for auction. It looks rough (stored outside; seats all gone, etc.) but everything seems to work and it sounds good. It has a L1720 loader and a L1570 backhoe. It has 34hp... They didn't know the year and unfortunately, I didn't get the hours! They did say the farmer owned it since new. If this helps, the serial number is:
L345-102XX (where XX is two more numbers)...

Any opinions on this one? The 2WD part bothers me, but, it still seems like a very useful piece of machinery! Also, if I decide to upgrade later, will this backhoe work on newer Kubotas? It attaches to the bottom frame of the tractor (not just a 3pt attachment)...

Well, I'll reply to my own post...

The tractor didn't sell... The high bid was ~$9500 and the minimum was $10k. It may have sold after the bidding!??!

Even though it looks weathered, apparently, it only had 400 hours! Even though it wasn't my ideal tractor (no 4WD), it probably would have been a good deal for $10K...

Oh well... Still looking!

What are you looking for in a tractor? Was the backhoe of importance? For that kind of money you can find some really good buys with low hours and loaders, but the backhoe certainly adds to the cost.

Good question... A backhoe was on the "nice to have" list with price being a very important factor for it being there. After saying that, I have quite a few jobs currently that require a backhoe. Looking at this tractor for this price, the backhoe is gaining importance...

BTW, I still may have an opportunity with this one! Say tuned!
