L345DT Alternator questions

Am helping a friend work on her Kubota L345DT tractor. The alternator isn't charging, we have no service manual. I need to know the electrical configuration of the regulator so as to be able to test if the trouble is in the alternator or the regulator. I/E is the regulator an "A" circuit or a "B" circuit. I need to know how to full-field test the alternator to eliminate the regulator as the culprit.

I have a L345 service manual with a 1-page wiring diagram in it. If you think it will help, I can scan it and e-mail it to you, or I can fax it tomorrow. It appears to be fairly simple (that's coming from someone who hasn't the faintest idea what it is telling me), so it may not have the answer you're looking for.

Thank you for the schematic, it came through ok. It gives me a starting point now, I just need to determine where the regulator is grounded, I should be able to do that with an ohm meter. Once again, thanks for the quick reply.

Joe, I thought I'd mention that when I had my L345 I thought the alternator wasn't working. My battery was going down even though I was using the tractor. But a lot of the time it was just idling. The engine has to be spinning up at 1200 or 1500 rpm for it to kick in. I was expecting it to be more like a car where it charges as soon as you get above idle. I remember doing some kind of a light bulb test described in the manual - once I revved it up enough, presto !
