Greetings,
Yes, you MAY have to remove the two pins that hold the cylinder in and pull it out.
I rebuilt the packing on mine and had to do this.
Put your stabalizers down - not holding the back end off of the ground, just down to stabalize the tractor.
Next, roll the bucket out, extend the dipperstick all the way out, then turn the hoe arm to one side so you have room to pull the cylinder out and ease the hoe arm down onto the ground - basically, just stretched out on one side or the other.
If it's the bottom hose, you may be able to reach it like this and not remove the complete cylinder.
If not, remove the hoses from the control end so the cylinder is free to compress or extend but be aware you will get hydraulic oil leaking so hold the hose ends up as much as you can and/or put the open ends over a bucket.
I like to roll up a piece of rag and plug the fitting and the hose end to keep crud out and minimize the leakage.
Remove the pivot pins from the cylinder - you may be able to just remove the bottom pin and extend the cylinder out of the boom enough to get to the hose, maybe not.....getting that top pin back in was a real pain for me but I was doing it by myself.
Reverse the procedure to reassemble.
Hope this helps!
