Finally getting around to a new thermostat on my L35. Hope it fixes a low engine temperature problem I'm having.
Question about the gasket. It is a plastic-like material that has a pressed-in indent following around the circular hole of the thermostat manifold. So the gasket is flat except for this small circular indent. On one side this 'notch' is an indent as said, on the other side of the gasket it is a corresponding pop-out.
Sorry if I can't describe this simple thing very well.
Does the pop-out side of the gasket face the engine, or does it face the top cup which encloses the thermostat?
