L3600 GST question

Hello everyone. I hope someone can help me here. I just bought a L3600 with the GST tranny, my question is this: Forward , neutral, reverse on the column shift. On my left while in the seat are my high and low gears 1-8. This also has a neutral.If the left shifter(high low gears) is in neutral, and I put the colum shifter in forward, should the tractor stay in neutral? When I have the left shifter in neutral, and place the colum in forward, the tractor moves forward like it is in first gear. Everything else seems perfect. The Tractor has 650 hrs and is in great shape. Hope you all can offer your experience with this. Thx Curt.

With the shifter properly adjusted, neutral will be at neutral... I bet your position for 8th can not be reached, that is 8th will be at the 7th position and so on down to 1st beeing in the neutral position... simple adjustment with the shifter... KennyV

Thanks, I was looking at the shifter and cables. I cannot see any external adjustments that are obvious. Think I will have to pull the part off the tranny where the cables run into? I need to order a service manual for this tractor. Thanks for the replies.
