I might go see it tomorrow. The only other temptations are a ct445 with 100 hrs for 19000 at the bobcat dealer, which is a much bigger machine, and a new holland 1925 (tc33) 1900 hrs without a loader, which is about the same size/hp as an l3400, for $6200 that I'm supposed to look at as well.

Any help deciding between those three?

My 85 year old uncle was trying to convince me to buy the biggest one I could so I could dig a pond. I've read some posts here about how that is not the greatest plan for a cut, but he reminded me that he dug the foundation to his house with a farmall H in the 50's. Anyone tried?

I know boy toys are are great and he who dies with most toys wins! You could clean out your garage and have less engines to work on with a big B-series!

Looking for the best value for people after any heavy work is done that will give you more seat time with the smaller more comfortable tractor then you are used to (so you will wish everything you do is with the new one).

The others if nothing else will be good collector pieces, the L which you say you will mow with is late sixties early seventies so it is forty years old! Got to love power steering!

My wife would love the idea of cleaning out the garage and doing it all with one tractor. I'm pretty attached to them, though. I sold a Farmall Cub I had to a nice old guy down the road a couple of years ago, but I can't say I'm happy about it.

The L245 is actually a 1979, just three years younger than I am.

I decided to call the third closest dealer this morning (about an hour away). Got a quote for 17500 with qa bucket, drawbar, and delivery. That's the best quote yet, but a longer drive. Is it worth saving the $500?

If they seemed willing to work with you and seem nice to deal with, i would say yes. I went to 2 places to look at Kubota's and out of the blue called a third which was further away. I ended up buying my Kubota from the third place. They were nice on the phone and just as nice in person and had the lowest price out of the 3.
