How She Going Biiiiyys

Im looking for information about a problem with my Kubota backhoe(BH77) on my L 3800.

I have a leak on the right ram that moves the hoe to the left. I believe it is the psi relief valve on top of the ram thats weeping fluid.

I did double check and add more hydraulic fluid but I`m guessing I`m going to need a rebuild kit for that Psi relief valve.

Just under 400 hours on the machine and the only thing i ever had to replace was a fuel pump.

Anyone else run into this problem or now what kinda job i'm up against to rebuild the ram.

Cheers,n Tnks in advance for any help.

Make sure it might not just be a cracked fitting before ordering any parts!

I don't see a relief valve on the parts diagram for the BH77 swing cylinder.

Kubota BH77 Parts Diagrams

There were none on my BH90 or BH92 hoe attachments. AFIK, all the BH cylinders use the spool relief valve. Are you sure it isn't a leaking seal?
Can you post a picture?

I`ll have to order in a service manuel I guess, I`m not sure what is at the top of the ram as there is no connector but there is a plate with 4 bolts siting across the top of the ram. I had the bolts off but its sandwiched by the valve body. Maybe a seal gone, like most folks here its hard to get a hold of a service rep down here.
thanks folks, cheers

Are you pointing to the cylinder (orange) or the black bolt coming off the valve body?
If you're refering to the cylinder, the part you're pointing to is the mount for the cylinder and if it is leaking its a bad sign (most likely non repairable).

Hey there

Ya i`m pointing to the top of the ram with the plate across the top with 4 bolts holding it into place. I`m still searching for a better schematic of how the ram is held into place.
cheers.

Looks like a typical trunion mount cylinder. If it's leaking from around there, it's probably a crack in the cylinder body somewhere.
