Due to the fact that my hydro likes to walk when parked, can someone tell me how to adjust the brake to add more bite when its set?

That's odd though. I have a new L3800 (only 4 hours on it so far) and am happily surprised how exactly the treadle reacts. My tractor is at an absolute stand-still when the treadle is in neutral. I'd say you should have this checked.

First make sure you are stomping the brake pedal HARD to the second notch when you are setting the parking brake If you are on the first notch that may not be enough on a slope.. All HST will bleed down after a while and drift off on a slope. I found my old L3400HST was very effective parking braking if you set it on the 2nd notch. And I have hills here! If you are doing all of that, and is is still wanting roll off, Check your free play, in both pedals, they should be between .6 and .8 of an inch.. so about 3/4 of an inch . If you want to tighten it up a little there are rods attached to the pedals with adjusting/locking nuts . You want to make the rod just a little shorter. But dont take away all free play, and make sure both pedals are equal. At least from what I got of your discussion this is your concern. If you are concerned about HST pedal centering to Neutral then that is another matter. To sum up, My Parking brake was very effective on steep hills when stomped to the second notch.

Pretty sure it is the same as on the L3700. Mine is still almost new with only 54 hours on it and the brake holds well enough to keep me in place even in low range when I forget to release them. If your allow creep, they definitely need adjusting. You may need to the have the brakes serviced if you cannot get a good set when pressing the pedals down. From your description, I think the pedal is not the issue but here is the manual instruction anyway.

From my L3700 manual:

The brake pedal should have 15 to 20 mm (0.6 to 0.8 in.) of travel and should be equal on both sides. Be sure to stop the engine and chock the wheels before checking the brake pedal.

1. Release the parking brake.
2. Slightly depress the brake pedals and measure free travel at the top of the pedal stroke.
3. If adjustment is needed, loosen the lock nut and turn the brake rod to adjust the rod length within acceptable limits.
4. Retighten the lock nut.

Stomping the pedal HARD and setting to second notch has fixed MY issue. Thanks all. Totally impressed with how much I've put the L3800 through and it keeps taking it with ease. Incredible hydraulics on this unit.
