Here's my problem Bobcat CT440 with a loader and 8 foot backhoe or a Kubota L3800 with loader and 7.7 backhoe. Both are HST's. The BC weighs almost 1400 lbs more, the pto hp is the same. If you build both tractors on-line the BC is $4000 more BUT my dealer wants me in it. He said he would match the other price.

Kubota is still 0%/0% BC wants 10% down 0% in. both offer same warrenties. Both dealers are stand up places and I have been buying from both for a long time.

I'm scared of the bigger/heavier BC - the primary use is to go in your yard, dig open the septic tank, repair broken pipes or j-boxes.

I used the L-3800 - man that hoe operates so nice

They did not have a hoe mounted on the CT440 yet so they let me try a CT235 with a 6 foot hoe. I didn't like that one. Not a smooth operating attachment at all.

... sounds like you answered your own question.

To be fair.. the Bobcat is probably a tad more tractor, but its doubtful you'd notice. That $4000 price difference would easily put you in a Kubota L3240 which is a heavier tractor.

Neil, he said that the Bobcat dealer would match the lower Kubota price. There is no $4000 price difference.

Thats a lot of talk. There are not $4000 profit margins in any compact tractor deal. Unless he plans on taking a massive loss or was totally fleecing the guy the first time around... thats not going to happen.

What you say may very well be true, but that is not what the OP had said. I guess that you are saying that the OP must be mistaken for some reason or that he is outright lying.

Discount structures are different! Big discounts to offer new brands to get them moving out of the dealer yards!
