L39s are arriving!

What I miss most about the GST is the ability to match the preferred ground speed with the right umphh and torque, where as with the HST you seem to float above or below it most of the time. I like the analogy about the sliding down the snow bank with the clutch in…….that I don’t miss (although I do drive all of my other tractors regularly as a reminder and to keep them running). GST allows you to choose the optimum speed, with some mechanical manipulation.

Tried to put my hoe on after taking my 3PT plow off…..couldn’t get the quick attach couplers together????!!!!!! Friend said put the nipple of the male ends against metal to relieve the pressure. Any suggestions?

With the tractor off, take a wrench and open the fitting at the quick coupler a little to relieve the pressure. Keep your hands away from the imediate area as best you can as hydraulic fluid under pressure can pierce your skin and all sorts of badness begins...

Curtis,

My buddy who owns a JD110 has similar problems sometimes, and I suppose I'll have the same with this L39. He makes sure all tension is full relieved from the loader arms and bucket (moves the loader stick in every possible direction a few times), then if he needs to, I believe he said he presses the male end on a piece of steel to further relieve hydraulic tension, as others suggested.

The stabilizers were in ice and snow, but the hoe could pull the machine around at will. I'm sure it'll improve when they bite into soft earth or grab on the rubber street pads.

Jim , a little settlling into the ground and all those relieved pressures come back. A few hundred pounds eqautes into unmateable couplings. I usually try to pop the end of the male fitting to get things back to normal. Don't laugh!

If you were idling while disconnecting or connecting., you will not be able to hook lines together. I found on the 48 to shut it down, release all hydraulic pressures including front loader, and also leaving lever to backhoe. (don"t know if 39 is same) 48 has lever for backhoe or 3pt hitch.

Thanks everyone, I finally did relieve the pressure on one of the lines. Don’t remember which one (blue cap) but it was the only one that would release. No problems, popped right away….it was just the one line I didn’t try. It was just the L48s way of telling me the day is over after such a long day. I fuel the thing every day!!!! 26$+ each time. I think Rats comment about movement after disconnecting could be it…I never had that problem before. Really missing a drink holder, the only thing (besides a higher medium HST range) missing is the drink holder. I will actually be installing a small cooler.
