L4200 clutch question

Im looking at a Kubota L4200, tractor has 896 hrs,,appears to be in good shape, the tractor can be shifted without depressing the clutch pedal,the qusetion I have is when you push the clutch all the way in and put the tractor in rev or forward it wants to start moving before the clutch is let out, I can bump the brake and it will stop moving, it will also quit moving on its own after a few feet, the clutch is hard to push,,the owner sez the tractor has not been used much the last few years,,is this a concern or am I looking to hard,,he wants 9000.00 for it runs and operates very good, it also has hydraulics on the the 3 point lift,,any advice appreciated

It sounds like you have the Glide Shift (GST) power shuttle which can be shifted without using the clutch. On the movement before the clutch is engaged, it sounds like a clutch linkage adjustment is needed.

That was my first thought too. Clutch pedal linkage needs adjusting.

Also if it hadn't been used much in the last few years, the clutch plates could be a little sticky due to minor corrosion if the clutch pedal had not been held in the depressed position by using the hook which is provided for that purpose. If that were the case, just working the tractor a bit would solve that problem.

The clutch seems like it doesnt have a lot of travel, would that be normal for this model and the clutch spring is a bear,,is 9k a fair price

Have the clutch looked at, from your description it sounds like the disc has separated, you do not have to use that clutch, I have the pedal disconnected on mine... BUT the clutch can not be falling apart between the flywheel and the pressure plate...
