My rear wheel bearing is shot. Does anyone know where to find instructions as to how to do the repair. (or can advise me of the method)
I assume pull the spindle and the axle.
Never done a bearing before, but I have all the tools and am mechanically inclined.
Thanks for the help

Yep. I am looking at the shop manual here and basically it says in an abbreviated version. There are 2 bearings, one outboard by the wheel and one by the inner gear.

1. Drain Trans oil
2. Jack up, remove wheel, and rear axle case.

On the axle remove the ball bearing with a puller. Remove lock nut, pull gear, and spacer. Tap out axle.

When reassembling axle, grease the oil seal and install. May want a new seal if it caused the bearing failure. The shop manual here says to replace the lock nut with a new one and torque to 145-181 ft-lbs and stake it firmly.

When reassembling axle case use liquid gasket (Three Bond 1208D or equivalent)
M10 screws 35-41 ft-lbs
M10 nuts torque 45-52 ft-lbs
M12 screws and nuts 57-66 ft-lbs
Stud bolts 18-23 ft-lbs

Hope this helps

I'd add a couple points - the Kubota's I've had apart were not hard to work on. The bearings are lightly pressed on the shafts and are slip-fit in the housing bores. You may need a puller but may be able to do without one. Afterward it's important to flush out chips and metal grit from the failed bearings and change the trans oil filter. Good luck. Dick B

Just as a thought check to make sure the rim dish is tight, as it makes a horrable noise that sounds like the wheel bearing is out.
