Previously I had owned a Ford 8n. With it, the three point arms always swung freely and I could easily lift an arm with one arm and attach it to the implement. With the L4400 with the control lever all the way down the lift arms won't raise except with the tractor running using the control lever. Any hints how I can make it hitch up easier? Sometimes, the older equipment had it over this newer stuff! Thanks for your help!

I'm a fan of Quick Hitches. They work best with TnT though. I hear the extendable links on my L4060 are great, but as I have a QH already & it never comes off they are moot to me. Pat's easy hitch or what not (TBN store & many other places) are popular too.

kubota4me, something doesn't sound right or isn't right. Unless you are talking about lifting the arms up independently of each other, which they are not designed to do.

With my previous L4200 and now with my new L5060, if my 3Pt hitch arms are down I can lift them up without the engine running and use of the lift control lever. Of course they both lift at the same time even when just grabbing one of them.

I am not a fan of QHs. I own several 3Pt hitch implements and not all of them were built to one single standard hitch dimension. And now that I have a L5060 I can use both Cat I and Cat II 3Pt implements.

How many years ago did you own the 8n?

I am age seventy. I find things heavier every year.

Kubota Lower Links connect, so you lift the weight of both links, not individual links.

A Quick Hitch may be your solution.

The T-B-N STORE, button at top of this page, is agent for well regarded Pat's Quick Hitch.
PTO powered implements may require a readily available 4" shaft extension after Pat's Quick Hitch is installed. Pat's QH has evolved steadily since its intro ~~ refined design today.

I have had an l4400 for six years. I put a pat's hitch on it and like it. Get the spreader bar if you buy the hitch.
Your machine should have lots of adjustment features on your bottom two links. One has a screw in or out. Both have sliders with pins and multiple slots for adjusting.
My implements are from different eras, the both hitch points are not the same for all of them. The spreader bar and pocket tape save me a lot grief.

I bought a Quick Hitch several years ago and consider it the most useless piece of trouble I ever bought and actually paid money for. Many, maybe even most, of the implements I try to hook up will not work with the "quick hitch." The usual impediment is that the things have NO flexibility in left-right spacing -- the net result is only SOME of your implements will work with the thing. Yeah, you can throw away twice as much money and get both the Cat 1 and Cat 2 quick hitches. I find with the extendable lower lift arms on the newer tractors there is little or no advantage of the quick-hitches. By far the greater problem/issue is fighting the PTO to get it linked up, balky pto shaft telescoping, implements that are way too heavy for one person to move or adjust in position, etc. The so-called quick-hitch solves none of these problems.

Like Oldoak, I am no fan of QHs.
