I have a 2005 L4400 with a manual tranny and want to put a 3PT splitter connected to my power beyond. The listed specs in the manual state a 7.8 gpm pump capacity but the section on the auxiliary hydraulics states a max flow of 8.4 gpm. I know this difference is slight but I'd like to understand. Is that because the power steering flow also goes through the power beyond? If not, what could account for this difference (other than a misprint :))?

You have a dual pump, PS is on its own circuit rated at 4.7 gpm. Does it not say so in the manual? Spec sheet does.
You will have the full 7.8 (or 8.4 max) available to your PB.
As far as the difference in numbers, flow depends on the rpm it was rated at - right?

Thanks for that and I think I understand what you are saying. The 7.8 gpm is at some unspecified rpm but the 8.4 gpm is with the motor at full throttle?
