I wanted to ask if anyone is haveing any problems with your tractor running hot. I don’t have any problems when using the loader but when I use my Wood (6000) rotary cutter or my Tufline (disk harrow I have to really nurse it through the jobs to keep it from over heating. It is of course a little more troublesome in summer. It doesn’t solve the problem no matter how often I clean the radiator screens which my dealer says must be the problem because everything else is O.K. When the dealer got the tractor in there was a delay in servicing it out for delivery in that the radiator was busted. If I understood the service guy they then broke the replacement during installation and had to order another replacement before it was ready for delivery. (Makes me question the radiator)

The main jobs I use the disk and cutter on are three 1 to 1.5 acre food plots. The rest of the time it’s mostly loader work and I couldn’t be happier. It just seems like the tractor would handle the disking and shredding a lot better.

I will soon be out of warranty and I am trying to figure out what to do. I was wondering if you had any suggestions.

Is it a gauge that shows its over heating or is it boiling over? If its the gauge, it would be interesting to check the water temp maually with a thermometer. If the radiator has any blockage in even one tube these days, it seems enough to cause problems, my Subaru was that way. Obviously, the theromstat should be checked as well. I would consider having the dealer check it out if you can't before the warrantys out.

Get it back to the dealer or another "better" dealer before your coverage runs out. You have a problem that needs to be solved before you damage the engine (if your overheating a lot) /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My dealer would have sent out someone to see the problem first hand, if they couldn't find the problem in the shop.

Thanks SageBrush. I think I will try that.

A little help please. How much dose your L4610HSTC over heat when you are bushhoging last years heavy food plot cover? Does it over heat when you disk that food plot after cutting it?

What should I expect to be normal. Need ammo to get my tractor fixed.

Thanks

None of my present tractors over heat at any time. They are made to run at rated power all day long and all summer long.

Sometimes when its really hot, say over a hunderd, air conditioners may need to be turned off when your working real hard. I don't have an air conditioned AG tractor now, but in the past the AC didn't work very well when the temps went up over 95 degrees.

The best AC tractor I ever operated was a Kobelco (spelling ?) track hoe... always stayed like an ice box, even in 100 degree Atlanta heat.

My 4610 does not have the cab, so it may be different due to the A/C on your machine. However, my temp gauge runs just shy of 1/4 under light load, and moves up to maybe 1/3 if it is working hard. Maybe a bit more if it's 90-something degrees. Has never been even close to overheating, never needed coolant added. Keeping the dirt off the screens up front is important, as noted.

My trucker friends say a diesel likes to run hot, but if yours is pegging the temp needle, losing coolant or something like that, you need to get a good dealer mechanic to look at it before using it further.

Good luck!
