My 4610 won't start. I used it 2 weeks ago everything worked ok. Put in a new battery. When I turn the key I get nothing. I tried the emergency flashers and they work. It seems like power is not getting to the key switch. Could it be the timer relay? This would happen now, we just got 6 in of snow dumped on us. HELLLLLLP.

Check to make sure the hst pedal is centered/neutral (not pushed down forward or reverse)

Make sure you push the clutch all the way to the floor.

Make sure the cruise control lever is in the off position

Also make sure the PTO is disengaged.

microswitch on clutch. also do a search on hst pedal.

Since the weather got really cold, about one out of four times that I start the tractor in the morning I will turn the key and nothing happens. It has always been the HST pedal. I just leave the key turned in the start position while I move the pedal slightly back and forth until it hits the right position and starts.

When I turn the key on I have no power to the dash panel. Usually the oil pressure, battery, and glow plug light come on. All I have are the emergency flashers. Any ideas?

1) check all fuses
2) check that the mid-pto is in the off position
3) check all fuses
4) check that the rear PTO is in the off position
5) check all fuses (shorted is "good" - open is "bad")
6) check that the HST peddle is in the center
7) check all fuses
8) check that the cruise control is off
9) check all fuses
10) check that the clutch is going down all the way

if that does not work, you can try checking the fuses. Might be a bad one.



But seriously, the symptoms are either a safety switch is engaging or a blown fuse.

Dead / weak battery will chatter the solenoid and dim the head lights when attempting to crank. Safety switch or fuse will give no indication that the key was turned.

Cranking with no start is potentially the kill switch pulled out.

While frustrating, it's probably a simple fix and that's good!

While I don't have this exact Kubota mine sometimes acts the same way and it is the seat disconnect. I just bounce in the seat until it starts. I have JD's as well and the same thing happens. I figured it was just mild corrosion from cooler temps. Very frustrating at times.

Since you installed a new battery - it's probably not the problem I had.

I parked our L4310 HST facing downhill and running, during a snow storm (to move cars out of parking spots). The lights gradually became dimmer and dimmer.

Seems the melt water ran down the hood channels and dumped on the battery behind the grill and shorted it out. Similar problem occurred last summer when the water dumped onto the air cleaner sensor. This weekend I'm going to devise a divertor for the melt water.

I hope Kubota reconfigured this layout in subsequent models.
