L4630 1st impressions

First I think this is a great site lots of information here. My 4630 was delivered today. I had some qualms about the HST over my old NH 1920 shuttle shift but after about five hours of loader work with the HST I have no regrets. After using the LA853 loader I realize I have more loader than tractor.Without the backhoe on the tractor she's a little light in the rear end. This is a whole different animal than my JD 310 loader/backhoe was not as powerful but a lot more nimble. Still waiting on the backhoe for the tractor. Also tried mowing today was a little worried about loss of pto hp due to HST, but I guess I went up enough in hp to allow for this absolutely no bogging down at all even in 3ft grass. Very impressed with tractor sofar. Not knocking New Hollands as my 1920 gave me 8yrs of trouble free service.

Stimmy60, glad you are enjoying your tractor. I read you are waiting for you BH and you are doing FEL work and feel a little light rear ended. I had my BH off for a short time to connect my mower and found it hard to back up a sandy incline without spinning my rear tires. Are you operating the FEL with any rear counterweight? If you are not, you will really be impressed when you get some counter weight or your BH. Have fun , be careful.....

I agree: if you add some weight on the rear it will help. I have the L4330 HSTC with the LA 853 loader. I do mostly loader work and had the tires loaded with Rim-Guard, 200 lbs of wheel weights on each side, and I try to have a 6 ft box scraper on back. I also put it in 4WD and it seems to do even better.
