The tractor was delivered the last week of December. Took it down the driveway a couple of times and parked it.

By the time it was unloaded and I went through the controls for the first time it was dark.

A rear view in the shed. The rear lights are great. I am real impressed with the cab and heater, did not try the air conditioner. The rear wiper is not yet in, will install that and a radio in the spring when it is warm as the top of the cab must come off for both.

The gst seems like it will work real well with all the speed selections (24/16) with the transplanter in the spring.

The two tractors did not quite fit in the shed together so the quick attach was put in use to take off the bucket for a tight fit.

I will mention again how well I like the rear work lights, the front cab lights work real well with the loader bucket on, one of the few complaints I had with the NH, could not see working with the bucket at night.

BTW... Just looking at the track left behind your tractor makes me feel cold. Down here we hardly ever see that white stuff.

I wish you people with air conditioned cabs would quit posting pictures of them!!! Do you have any idea what that does to a Texan without a cab???

Sweet ride /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I got a 5030 cab in Nov. I had to install a radio quick. After pushing snow last week (about 20 hours) I really need the rear wiper and side window defrost. So I bet I get them before next winter. The cab top comes off very easy. All the wires are there to hook up every thing. They do have some of the wires hid good, just look and feel.

Do not have to worry about the side window defrost as it will get no time in the winter as we head south until spring. Hopefully the wiper will be in by then. Had the radio mounting kit and speakers installed by the dealer.

The white stuff and cold is why we head south during the winter, no reason to stay up here and freeze.

I havent seen many instances to use my heater...I use the a/c in the winter too!! I must be doing too much MANUAL labor /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That is one nice Tractor!

I noticed in your profile that you own New Holland and John Deere. Was there any particular reason that you went with Kubota over the others???? I know here (East Tennessee) that a lot of the Commercial Tomato Growers are all buying Kubota (Versus NH/JD) and seeing that you own other brands, thought that you might know something to share!

I needed something bigger than the NH1630 for plowing and tilling 40 acres, the size of our garden. Looked at the 55HP class in the NH/Case, the NH dealer was $2900 higher than the Case. Liked the idea of the Case with IH as grew up with a A and M. But could not locate a gear 55HP. The Case dealer is also a Kubota dealer so one thing led to another.

The tractor will also be used for a transplanter and a potato digger, both jobs that would be better suited to a HST, the NH being to small for the transplanter and a little underpowered for the potato digger considering the turf tires.

It sure looked like it was going to be a gear drive tractor with all of the plowing, and then started looking at the GST with the creeper gear with the lowest speed being .10 MPH. Then looking at all of the models this one had a cab, creeper gear was standard.

It was not because it was a Kubota, but the features on the machine just suited my needs better than the other models that I had looked at, NH, Case, Cub Cadet. Even though I have a full size JD TLB, which was purchased used, did not look at them as the dealer is part of a string of dealerships and do not care for the parts price add ons.

I do feel that I purchased the best model to suit my needs, but will have to wait until next spring and summer to be sure.
