Plowing this weekend I noticed every so often my P/S would get hard, almost as if I lost it or there was something binding. After finishing plowing, tractor was put in garage to melt off. I retried P/S, it appeared it would bind while turning wheels to the left, raised front end and retired, still binds every so often. While tire's were raised, I greased trunions and turned steering to both stops, that seemed to stop the binding. This morning I did some final touch up plowing and steering was binding, back to the garage, what I found is there is a grommet that the steering shaft goes through just behind the brake petals, the grommet was stuck to the steering shaft and wraping itself around the shaft. Grommet is torn, appears to be a $7.00 item, when I replace it I'll need to clean the steering shaft,it has a sticky substance on it,and I'll use a silicone grease. Something to watch!
