I think that if a full size tlb would work for your particular case, then by all means it makes more sense to purchase a full size.

These Kubota tlb's (although yes, very pricey) are clearly not competitors to full size tlb's. I don't see why anyone would buy one if they were. However, I have very little use for a full size, but certainly have need for something like the L47 and more so the M62.

I don't know why people seem to compare these to full size tlb's so often.

I think that people just like to compare things. All sorts of things. And there are times when it sure is helpful to be able to distinguish a mouse from a moose. Here's a picture my wife took right before she jumped up onto the M59.
