Just traded my M4900. What an upgrade! I went from a 9' Woods hoe, gear shift and clamp on forks to the L48 with brand new Bradco forks, hydraulic thumb, bigger digging bucket and a grading bucket for the hoe. I owe the upgrade to a lot of info I read on here. Thanks!

I was wondering if anyone out there was running a cab. If so, what kind and how much $$$? I saw one from Sims I think but it was pricey. Any thoughts or pics?

I have a partial cab that was made locally. The door areas and rear are canvas type material with clear plastic windows. Best thing I ever did considering two winters ago. plowing our long driveway, it was 20 something below ambient temps, and 40 something below wind chill, and that day, the wind howled. After that snow storm, the locally made cab was ordered... I would have bought a Curtis soft cab. I called Curtis on several ocassions and got, we'll make L 48 cabs when we feel like doing it again.. I was totally turned off by Curtis and their shove it attitude. They claim they make X number and move on to something else and they don't care until that particular cab series comes up again for manufacturing,... When I called was Feb and they said not until Aug or so before cab Mfg came around again,. No dealer in the northeast had any in stock, so,,

I hear the new L48 due out this fall will NOT have cab as it would put the price near a full size hoe which they think would be a turn off. Too bad they don't offer it as an option. Check out the KX161 thread on this page and see his picture of the L48 with hard cab, looks great.

Have you priced Curtis Cab? I installed a cab on a L4310 HST. The parts don't fit with the tightest tolerance, but it sure is nice being dry and warm.

I also installed their heater unit and installed generic lights atop and fan behind the seat - blows warm air around in winter and the bugs off in the summer. I wish I'd got their wiring console.

I don't have a backhoe attachment though.
