L48 deal or not?

Dad and I have been looking at backhoes and keeping our eye open for a L35/L39 for a great price. We missed a awesome deal on a L35 a couple years ago.... anyways he went thru a neighboring town over the weekend and spotted what he said was a L35 (he didnt stop just saw it while passing) at the Kubota dealer.... I proceeded to head that way to check it out... much to my surprise its a L48!!

I looked it over, It has 435hrs appearance is great Nice paint with normal wear, no busted/bent pannels or metal on it. The bottom is dry so there wasn't any visible leaks! It does NOT have the quick hitch loader bucket (skidsteer type) but it does have the excavator quick hitch for the backhoe bucket. I dont remember seeing any auxiliary hyd connections on the loader or hoe. The rear tires are 80% the fronts are 65%-75% (show wear from turning on pavement it looks like)

I didnt get a chance to run the machine since the owner was the only one at the store but visually it looks to be in great shape. There is a little concrete splatter on the hood guard but nothing alarming.

They are asking $25,000 for this Do you think its a fair price? What would be a good offer for it?

we've looked around at backhoes but they are hard to find that are in good shape with lower hours and under that price here in Michigan... heck even used Kubota TLB's are hard to find! the auto trader had 1 used L35

I bid on one on e-bay with about the same hours. I stopped at $25K and let the other bidder have it (his next counter bid won it). I think its a fair price. Maybe make a counter offer or see if he'll pay the tax.

If you plan to use it for more than backhoe work you should check to see if it comes with the 3pt. equipment. They end up missing on many of the Kubota TLB’s and will set you back about a grand to replace.

Seems to me like a fair price for a low hour machine. New L39’s will run 32 to 36K.
