I know it's been done, but thought I'd share.
Sony DSX-S300BTX digital media player.
Bluetooth, your ipod (mp3 player) goes inside the radio. The face folds down and a little tray opens. Plug in your ipod and close. That easy.

Infinity 2way speakers. Had to modify the factory speaker grills to accept the new speakers. Holesaw and a Dremel took care of it.

Used a little tape to hold the screws in place. Another person would have helped but I managed.

Oh man your going to enjoy that system. Those Infinity speakers are fantastic. I just changed out all the original speakers in our 2012 Mustang with Infinity's and I have them in the tractor as well.

Your going to have a very nice machine by the looks of it. Nice install.

Thanks 4shorts. I noticed in some of your pictures that you didn't have to cut out the speaker grill. Do we have different models or did you use a different grill.
And yes it sounds great. Also my wife didn't even realize that she was on the bluetooth handsfree through the radio when she called me the other day.

No I didn't modify the grills. I shimmed them so that the center cone would tough the grill. I just machined eight little pipe spacers and it did the trick. Yep they are the same speakers. I went with a different head unit. It had the features I was looking for. The biggest part of the install was getting the head unit to adapt to the original radio mounting plate which required drilling out spot welds and repositioning the unit and then re-welding the spot welds but it worked out perfect. Look really close at the last two photo's and you'll how I installed the speakers with out any cutting or mods.

I thought about spacing out the grills, then I thought that it would look neat with the tweeters showing through, so that's why I went my rout. As for the radio can, that is exactly what I did with mine. Drilled the spot welds, re-welded to the new can and hit it with some rust inhibitor and spray paint just to be safe.

Everyone has there own method. When I tackle anything my main goal is to have it work as it was engineered and to make it look as if it was born with the machine. From my front bumper to my exhaust stack mod no one locally even noticed they were done by me so I consider that a compliment when it's not noticed. All that matters is that your happy and no one else. :D
