L5740 works in the snow

I have just about 70 hours on the new machine. Delivery truck came with pallet of new bee supplies after the ice/snow storm and I wondered how I was going to get them back to the shop. I dug the doors open on the pole barn:laughing: then I tried out the new L5740 4wd in pretty deep snow with ice and was very impressed the way it handled. I'm still asking myself why I didn't get a 4wd tractor in the first place. The HST had no problems in response etc at a temp of 8F. The grapple (thanks Steve) came in useful yet again.
It's great to have a machine that can work in many conditions.

We got well over 2 feet of snow last week. I have a 1 1/2 mile trail I walk with the dogs as often as I can (usually 4 times a week or more), exercise. Usually late in the year we'll get deep snow and for a few weeks I would just not walk (snow shoes work for me but the dogs struggle).

So I unhitched the snow blower and put the FEL back on and drove the loop with the bucket a few inches off the ground. I was very impressed with how well my 4240 pushed snow. When going up the steeper hills I would just raise the bucket. Even with the subframe on the tractor it just kept on pushing away.

Understatement for sure...my 9N couldn't be moved until the spring thaw unless I wanted to use 4wd pu to pull it out. The orange machine acted like it was just another day. As we get older we think more because our backs can't take the abuse.
