LA 272 Vs. LA 302 FEL\'s. Anyone know the diff.

I am all set to purchase a B7500 with a LA 272 already installed. The dealer has another new B7500 without a loader on it and I have the option to go with a LA 302 loader for $300 more. The only difference we can find in the two loaders is the control valve (Part #'s are different) and the fact the the 302 offers more lift capacities. Everything else appears to be the same. Size, weight, cylinders, etc. Any thoughts?

A difference of 66 lbs. more capacity..., but I would imagine the $300. difference should get you more than just 66 lbs...? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

All we could figure out was that the pressure relief system was set at a lower pressure to protect a lighter built valve. $300 Vs. 66 lbs /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Personally I can't justify the added expense.

I believe that the front grill (radiator) guard is included in the price of the LA 302, but is optional at extra cost for the LA 272. Ask your dealer.

The differences are here:

Rusty is right the grill guard is standard on the 302 and optional on the 272.

When my 7500 was delivered the salesguy wrapped a chain around the FEL (mines a 302) and box blade and lifted the BB to take it off the truck. It was swinging in the air and almost whacked the grill guard. I thought, I'll bet that grill guard will come in handy one day /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Come to think of it you guys are right. It does not have a grill guard and I asked him to put one on. He said it would run around $140 and I told him to go ahead and have it installed. Now we are down to $160 for 66 lbs of lift. I think I will keep the 272 and put the $160 towards a 9" PHD. I hate the manual kind. I never can find the clutch on them! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I bought the HST. My Case had a standard transmission and that is fine for straight mowing and box blading. However since I bought the FEL with the new Kubota I really wanted the HST. I have had it of about 4 days now and really like the HST and could not see owning a FEL without HST or Shuttle Shift. Come to think of it I never even looked at the DST it may be shuttle. Anyway my father inlaw had the B7100 HST and I really enjoyed using it.

I guess it just boils down to personal preference. I will add that if it is all about money I would suggest spending the extra cash and purchasing the HST. My whole family can drive it with the HST. Dang now I remeber the draw back to the HST, now I will have to hide the keys. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
