With that many washers on you likely get the same effect as the bushing kit, but on mine it looks like the spring could spit a coil if heavily loaded like that. The main thing is if it works /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

That is true if you only use a few washers. I have a stack of 9 washers and once the handle is locked down the spring is almost fully compressed. It can not dis-engage not matter how much prying you do with the bucket.
I will admit that it looks like a "cave man" repair. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gene - That is so condescending. You might assume, as others do, that we "cave men", with our comparatively small brains, are incapable of operating your fancy computing machines and reading comments like these, but we are, and we have feelings. Please give us the respect that we feel we have earned, as we try to fit into your society. Don't make me come over there and club you.

Cordially, Og

Ok Og, get away from that keyboard, right now! Yes, you! Is there anyone else named Og in this room? Get into your cage, right now, or there'll be trouble! No History Channel for you for ONE WEEK, and I mean it!

OK, that's better. Here, I got you some nice fresh roadkill to chew on ... that's a good boy, get into your cage, there you go ... that's right, eat up....yummy isn't it? ... now you behave while Daddy finishes this post, alright? OK, nite nite ... no, you're safe, no dinosaurs will get you, they've all been turned into inferior lubricants ... now get some rest, you have a big interview tomorrow down at the DMV ... that's a good boy ....

Sheesh, those things aren't easy to train, I knew I should have just gotten another dog ... oh well ... oh man, drool all over the keyboard, yuckkkk .... hold on .......

Ok, that's better - sorry about that, he still has some evolving to do. Ken, I just wanted to say that I misread your post on the Kubota kit and I'll look into that as a better fix for my problem than bolting the grapple to the QA adapter. It was Og's idea, but I like your fix better. The pins got all chipped up from all the times the grapple popped off, but maybe with new pins and the Kubota kit I'll be back in business, and I'll be able to really use the QA for the few times I switch from grapple to bucket. Again, thanks for the tip, and ....

Og, get back in your cage! Og, I mean it, right this minute! Hey, don't you growl at me! Hey, put that club down! Put it down right now! Og? Og?! OG!!?? NOOOOOOO.... ... .. .

(Thump-thump-thump)

......... Let's see, how do you work this thing again? Oh yeah, press little buttons, make funny little words .... (drool)

OK, anyone else have any more cave-man jokes? /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

My sincere appologies to all the cave men out there.

I feel like I am now in one of those Geico Insurance commercials.

I can be a bit of a cave man fixer too, well, a caveman with a welder! Its amazing the things you can fix with an AC welder... or if not fix, ruin beyond proper repair!

Didn't mean to make fun of the washer fix, the kubota one is way over priced for what it is. I suspect a little chunk of 1/2" pipe or whatever diameter it is could be cut to the right length for almost no cost.
