I got leaky bucket tilt cylinders on my FEL. I got the seal kits and UDT II coming from Messick's. I also bought the U-cup tools to compress and install the inner seals.

The gland nuts on my LA402 cylinders are steel and the pin removal holes are 11/64's in diameter.

Here's my issue - all the pin spanner wrenches (fixed or adjustable) that will fit my 54mm diameter gland nut are either 3/16 or 5mm pins.

I'm at the point were I'm considering enlarging the gland nut pin holes to 3/16's and get on with the rebuild. Before I do, I though it wise to post here to see what other folks have done - besides making a wrench to to fit?

Thanks

John

Still waiting on parts. So I went ahead and enlarged holes on the gland nut from 11/64 to 3/16. I used a sharp quality drill bit and made sure to hot the holes straight/ It all worded out really well.

Both cylinder have been rebuilt with new seals. No leaks after testing. The true test will be the next time it snow. We haven't had this much snow for about 15 years.
