La482 loader, problem raising

Where is the lever sticking? If the float position, there is a detent, that keeps the bucket in float. If you don't want float, then don't select it, which is all the way fwd. You might try removing the cap off the spool with float, and check and clean the detent area. There are some balls and springs in there. Check for rust and other debris.

As far as passwords, you can also get another anytime.

No matter how hard I try to avoid it, I still wind up stuck in float once in awhile.
Finally got around to removing the cap you told me about J J. There were 4 ball bearings (3 BB size and 1 almost twice as big). There were no springs or anything else. I left the balls out and seems to work fine. Do they have any other function other than the float? Thanks.

I am not positive, but there should be springs in the float assembly, and the purpose is to keep the lever in the float position until you pull it back.

I believe if the springs are missing, you will not be able to keep the lever in float.

You might look at the manual for your valve and see if all the parts are there.

Thanks J J. Exploded view shows 4 small balls and 1 larger ball with a spring. Evidently someone else has had cap off and spring and 1 small ball are missing. It seems to work great without those parts. I have no need for the float and am happy with the operation of the loader now. I was concerned it might affect some other operations of the bucket. All I have to do is move some dirt. Don't have to landscape it now. Will probably put machine up for sale next spring. Thanks a lot j_j.

You need something to keep you out of float, or it could dump a load when you least expect it.

Going into float requires some effort if things are working right.
