Hi, I just put money down on a new Kubota LA482 loader and am getting it installed next week.
My question is about the valve.........at some point I might put a front power angle blade on and I asked the dealer if I needed the 4 way vlave and he said no! he said that if I put the power angle valve on I need to get a power beyound kit.

Does anybody know about these?

Thanks
Jack

I think your dealer may be a little confused. Check this <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.tractorbynet.com/cgi-bin/compact/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=buykubota&Number=101191&page=&view=&sb=&o=&vc=1/>post</A> before you decide on the valve.

Thanks for your quick reply. So what does a power beyond kit do?

A power beyond kit will allow you to tap into the 3ph hyd's and is generally used for installing another hyd valve to operate other implements from the back, hyd power rake, top and tilt, etc. it makes for a neater assembly rather than runing hoses back from the power beyond of the loader valve. Wich you can still do. The loader valve will have a power beyond port.

Could'nt I run the angle blade from the power beyond on the loader valve.
I would rather have the 4 postion valve but the dealer said he can't get one.

Yes, you can run off of the loader valve power beyond. It's just the additional cost and bulkiness of the additional valve. When the 4-position does all that for you. Surely someone out there has a 4-position valve he can get his hands on. The valve usually comes with the loader, so maybe that's all he has in stock. Dealers usually prefer to sell off stock, rather than order new. Call around to other dealers to get a feel for weather or not there is a shortage from Kubota. Maybe Carvers can help. I just think you would be happier with the 4-pos valve.

Kubmech.......Thanks for your help! Right now there is a shortage on the LA482 loader and all the dealers a saying it will be December before they can get one. I did find one dealer about 30 miles away that gave me a great price and will even pick up my tractor and return after installation for an extra 50.00 but the loader he has in stock only has the 3 postion valve. I wonder if they could swap out the 3 for the 4 postion with Kubota?

I geuss all I can add is see how hard the dealer will work for you on this. Maybe they are short on loader assy's but can get just the valve through whole goods. It may end up costing them more which of course may end up costing you more. That would most likely be the deciding factor. Of course, waiting till December may be an option.

If they can't get the 4 way valve now I may end up waiting until December.
Do you know if extra hydraulic hook ups come with the 4 way valve?

Thanks
Jack

If you mean extra quick couplers? No, you would have to buy them seperately. If you are installing a loader mounted front blade with power angle you would need two additional female coupler ends. They would attach to the ends of the power angle cylinder hoses and couple in to the bucket curl/dump side of the loader valve. A chain and hook assy would then be installed on the loader frame front crossbar to maintain the blade vertically.
