I know this subject has been gone over numerous time through out this thread how ever I have some specific questions and wondering for some feed back, allow me to give you some back ground information I currently own a JD 3032e my current attachments are 5ft frontier RC, 5 foot box scrape and a 5 foot rear scrape blade I currently maintain a 1000ft drive way along with general property maintenance, I also have a part time gig doing driveway maintenance and bush hogging, I have used my box scrape for years and does a great job but for the past year or two I have looked into the land planes and it looks like that this would be great for doing driveways with that being said here comes the questions.

1. I have looked at the frontier brand and bush hog brand offered at my local JD dealer, the bush hog brand has scrapers which looks like that would be an excellent feature the frontier also offers but it is in LP-12 series and the smallest is 7 foot and I am only looking at the 5 foot version, so my first question is there any opinions on which one would be best? ie quality and reliability, the bush hog brand does have replacement sled footing which is bolt on which seems like a good idea.

2. Looking at the bush hog brand it states that for the 5 foot with scrapers that my HP does not fit the bill according to the local JD dealer it would operate fine and not hurt the machine, I looked into the weight for the 3 point which is not an issue, any suggestions or opinions on this?

thanks everyone for any and all feed back.

I've got a JD3320 which is similar to your tractor and have been shopping for a land plane myself so this thread is perfect timing. I haven't come to any conclusions yet but I'm liking the Woods GS72C and the Everything Attachments 72".

Any reason you are going with a 5' instead of a 6'? I have a 5 1/2' box blade which the tractor handles fine so I figured a 6' land plane would be no sweat since its holding less material.

Eric, I do think the tractor could handle a 6 foot with no problem my five foot box scrape loaded with material handles fine, my reason for five verses 6 would be generally speaking most driveways I do including my own are 10 feet wide, so with that being said I can go down one side then come up the next while maintaining the crown of the driveway. I actually bought my first bush hog and my current box scrape from everything attachments and have nothing but good dealings with them, I am leaning toward the bush hog brand due the scarpers that they have and plus the replacement skids my only concern is that they say that it requires 40 HP with 4wd which I do not understand the weight is not an issue it is 500 lbs, the price on the devices from my local dealer on both are around 1250. but LP-11 from frontier does offer the scarpers and does not have replacement skids. I am really looking for insight on these brands pro's/con's and any other information out there, the video on everything attachments on there land plane really sold me and looks like a must have to help maintain driveways.

A 5 ft. makes sense for a crowned 10 ft. road.

For me my driveway is more like a parking lot, about 100' long by 40' wide in front of the garage and then another 100' by 25' along side the house with plans to extend it even further back.

I'm thinking that the wider and longer the plane is the better it will level.

wow that is wide, definitely sounds like wider would be better, I really do think that scrapers is a must so you bust the material and bring it to the top, I have found only have to drop the scrapers about an inch or two breaks and brings that material to the top to grade out hence that is why I am leaning toward the bush hog brand and not the frontier plus they are the same price.

I am also wondering if the bush hog brand road grader will match up to my i match which if not could very well be a deal breaker, so I was hoping to hear pro's/con's of both

I use the Land Pride GS2584 to maintain my 25' x 1 mile driveway in the summer. I used a Land Pride RB3596 to attempt maintenance for years and finally gave up. I just couldn't get the rear blade to do the job. Now this new grading scraper does a wonderful job and doesn't take all day to get the entire driveway completed. The RB3596 is now strictly used for winter snow removal. I've had no problems pulling the GS with my tractor. The first time I used it on the driveway was with all the shanks in the full down position - made a lot of noise but the tractor did not once miss a beat. The GS seems to pull just about like my two bottom moldboard plow when all the shanks are full down.

I believe they are saying not to use it on any tractor BIGGER than those numbers, or you might damage the attachment. Smaller is fine.
