Land Pride BB05xx scarifiers

I'm in the market for a BB and I have available locally a Woods GBC48 and a Land Pride BB0554. I have seen the Woods in person and it is a quality item. I have not seen the LP and I am wondering how the scarifiers adjust? The Land Pride parts diagram shows a odd V shaped "clip shank retainer" (item 5 on pg 6).

Does anyone have a picture showing how these LP scarifiers actually work?

I would say the clip fills the slot behind the scarifier to hold it forward so
the notch is engaged. There would be no pressure on the clip while moving
forward. Squeeze the clip and pull it up to remove it, Now the scarifier
can be slid back and moved to another position. Push it forward at a
slot position and reinsert the clip to hold it forward in the notch.
If you were going backwards, dragging the scarifiers, it seems there would be
pressure on the clips????
However, LP makes decent stuff, I have not seen anything hokey from them.
I would call someone and ask about it

I agree. The odd thing is if the clips held the scarifiers forward, it seems when dragging the box they might on occasion pull back just right and disengage. I'm sure there must be a positive catch, beyond the pressure provided by the springs
