I could use one of those (JEEP)
A Land Pride 1560 rake and rear scraping blade where left behind at a home I just purchased. I would like to use them behind my Jeep (no pto attachments).

MY IDEA:
Affix a dual action cylinder from the top of the rather beefy bumper I have on the Jeep to the top mount of a Land Pride 3 point. Letting the two lower points act as the hinge. I chose this a possible option because of how perfectly the height of the rake and bumper line up for welding the attachment points and bracing.

If this seams reasonable I was thinking of using-

A 12volt horizontal pump similar to one on surplus center part# 9-7413 for a dual acting cylinder. A cylinder with cross tube ends looks like it would fit quite nice, though I am not sure if spherical rods ends would be better. Controlled by a 2 or 3 way valve that would hopefully include a float as well as a check for the raised position. Solenoid controlled joystick if possible would be nice so I only had to pull wires up to the front of the vehicle.

My goal is to be able to raise and lower these instruments float on final passes and apply a little down pressure when necessary. Looking for some advice on parts that might help put this puzzle together. Any other ideas would also be appreciated. Thank You

Howdy, perhaps you can get some help from the Farm Jeep website. Keep us up to date on your progress. Farm Jeep

Hydraulic Implement Lifts:
The farm Jeep was introduced as a tractor replacement and was equipped with PTO and draw bar. This was at a time when the 3 point lift was becoming a standard in the small tractor industry. Jeeps owners could add a three point hitch that give them the full flexibility of a small utility tractor like the Ford N series. Jeep dealers sold the Monroe lift option, we are restoring an after market Newgren brand lift, and you can see an after market Stratton model in use at Farm Jeeps on the CJ3B page.

The original Monroe lift mounted in the bed of the Jeep while both the Newgren and Stratton mounted to the frame leaving the bed accessible.

These lifts would be incomplete without a hydrualic pump for power, an engine governor, and of course the implements themselves.

My jeep is a 1999 and cannot be retrofitted with an early cj pto transfercase. The new engines are also not easily adapted to the pumps on some of the early willy's 3 point. I had been bouncing some of those same ideas around around with another member in a "build it yourself thread". Would have been the best option if my jeep was a little older. Know I am just trying to figure out the best 12volt pump and valving controls to use.

Not sure how I missed this post, but you might be able to build a Monroe like lift that would set in the back of the jeep (tailgate removed), with the implement arms attached to the bumper. Go to our Web site and you will get the idea. Another option I have considered is a towable 3pt hitch. They sell plans here CadPlans Corporation - Where you can find designs, tips and order information to build your own backhoes, diggers and MORE!.
