I need an opinion or two. I am currently using a Land Pride RB3584 with my Kubota M7040 and find the 3584 is just not working out. My 70HP 4wd tractor is tearing up the 3584 (welds breaking, pin holes elongating, etc.). Plus, the 84" blade is just not wide enough when angled, and the 3584 just bounces along the hardpan glacial silt and rock road I have to grade. I've found a nice RBT45108 with hydraulic dual grading wheels, cushioning valves on all 3 cylinders, and a 2 way diverter valve that will allow me to control all 4 cylinders with my 3 remotes setup. It's been lightly used and they are asking $3800 for it. I'm just a little concerned it might be a little to much blade for my 70 HP tractor with the 108" blade. I do have loaded front and rear tires. What do think about the price and the ability of my tractor to handle this setup?

That is an awesome price, It is to big for your tractor though. :( That's not to say that you could not use it, sort of doubt that you could use it to it's full capacity. For the cost, I would sure do some serious thinking about it, probably get it and see if it works out for your needs-circumstances. You could always sell it if it is "just to big". An RBT4096 is what I would consider the perfect setup for your M7040. The RB series blades are just not heavy duty enough for real work with a decent size machine.

fyi, LP wants about $500 apiece for just the cushion valves. I am not experienced with rear blades (two days under my belt) but I think Brian is right that that blade would be a bit much for your tractor for dirt. But maybe you could shorten the blade?

I have a 2 wheel drive 70hp tractor & wouldn't hesitate to try the 108" blade. You may have to have a steeper angle for dirt but in the winter, snow rolls much easier & the extra width would be nice.

I know it is a bit big for my tractor, but I couldn't resist the price. I'll report back on how it works out. Thanks for the input.

I finally have the hydraulics sorted out (mostly) and the rear blade installed. It's a beast...

I still haven't got the two-way diverter valve figured out. It's a Rexroth electrically actuated valve that diverts hydraulic fluid to either the blade angle cylinder or the blade offset cylinder. The two round pin receptacle appears to accept a Deutsch K40 style waterproof plug, but not sure if that's the correct plug. Also not sure on how to set up the wiring. Any suggestions?

Use a control grip with the switch built into the grip. Here is one that a customer did on his M7040. I personally would have had the grip much lower, but he wanted it up that high. ;)
