I just got back from the Kubota/Land Pride/New Holland dealer and he told me that Kubota bought Land Pride about two weeks ago. I have to admit, the Land Pride Rotary mower I just bought has a perfect Kubota paint match!

I just wonder about Landpride dealers that are not Kubota dealers.

Here in Aus I know that JD has a relationship with the Australian implement manufacturer "Fieldquip" to make non-JD stuff. It's all painted in JD green... however you can easily get the same implements from them matched to other coloured tractors in their matching colours.

I'm guessing you'll see the Landpride stuff with Kubota stickers at Kubota dealers and and the same old Landpride stickers else where. At least that's what it seems like happened after their purchase of Kverneland a while back.

From what I read it didn't seem like they are changing anything far as how the company works, for now at least.

Interesting that Landpride would sell out to Kubota Corp. I just don't see Landpride/Great Plains as being a struggling business. I'm guessing they were made an offer they just couldn't refuse.

Hopefully Kubota holds good on keeping all the plants open. I know if I was kubota corp. I would be thinking immediately about starting a plant in Asia somewhere to make Great Plains no-till drills to reduce production and shipping costs and import tariffs. GP seed drills are top notch and pricey in the US already. I can't imagine what one goes for overseas but I guarantee if they can make them affordable they will probably sell like mad especially with Kubota's distribution system.

I'm guessing Kubota is making a move to get into big Ag. with this purchase and recently getting into the large baler business. I wouldn't be surprised in a few years Kubota will be bringing out a large scale combine. Only thing thats a bummer is where JD's and AGCO's corporate profits go to the US economy Kubota Corp. will go to the Japan.

It's no secret that Kubota intends on becoming a full line dealer to compete with JD and NH etc. We just got our first M7 with more on the way, and the rumors have already started about M8's.

Best thing that ever happened to Landpride was joining forces with Kubota. Before it was hit or miss trying to get parts at the other dealers, but with Kubota, you get the feeling you where dealing with professionals. I drive past one tractor dealer that sells Landpride fifteen minutes farther to get to the Kubota dealer when I need parts. Prices seem to be about the same, but Kubota has most things in stock while the other guy has to order everything. Even when comparing how long it takes to get something I order, at Kubota, it's a few days and a phone call the second it gets there. The other guy is several weeks, if it ever arrives and never a phone call that it's there. I just have to keep checking in to see if they got it.

Now that Kubota owns Landpride, I hope they continue use of standard sized nuts and bolts. While I don't have anything against metric, I just have twice as many large wrenches and sockets in standard sizes.
