Landhope series ?\'s

I really like the looks of the Landhope series - nice open platform - and have seen more than a few at reasonable prices. A couple of quick questions:

1. What are the actual model number designations of units in the 18 - 24 hp range? Have seen some just called Landhope 200 or 180, while others are listed as TUxxx. Yet one TU1701 I saw was a completely different platform. Hence my confusion...
2. Any idea who makes a FEL to fit (I searched Buhler - no Iseki listed - and Koyker - wants model number - websites without success; other manufacturers don't seem to have mount kit search functions)?
3. What transmission does it have?
4. Does it have power steering, and if not, can it be easily added?
5. Are these machines well supported in the US with regard to parts?
6. How about hydraulic capacity?
7. Transmission driven PTO, or live?

I guess what I'm looking for is pretty much the specs on these puppies.

One semi-related question, anyone know of the web address for Hardy loaders out of Canada?

Re: Landhope series ?\'s

Your asking for a lot of information & I don't have the time to answer it all. This is the kind of information a knowledgeable dealer should be able to supply. Most of the 3 # models have flat decks. Koyker makes the most brackets for Japanese model tractors. Powersteering & transmission depends on the model.

Re: Landhope series ?\'s

I have a TU205F, which I have mixed feelings about. I purchased the tractor broken in half. These tractors are not a great platform for a loader, the frames are terrible. When inspecting, look carefully around the engine area and immediately back from it. That being said, I rebuilt my frame and it has been a great little tractor. My 205 has power steering, the pump fill is at the front underneath the battery. This tractor is not common and is difficult to get parts for. Engine parts should be no problem but you should be ready for serious waits looking for anything else. Look to bearing / seal / chain dealers when drive shafts and universals go, transmission / transfer / rear end are quite different for Iseki's and hard to find. My loader is a Buehler and works well. I find the TU series uncomfortable. It looks great, but the sitting arrangement is tough on knees, even with the seat backed maximum. These tractors are not designed for the average North American. Re: Landhope series ?\'s

I don't like to make negative posts. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings that already has what I am talking about. That said. I ditto what svcguy posts. It is a cool looking model. I have had a few. They are VERY light weight. They have tried to make them confortable at the cost of strength. There is a reason you are seeing them at below other model prices. I have sold over a hundred tractors. I keep an Iseki TAXXX model for myself. They cross over to Massey closer than any other model does to a US model. They are very strong and comfortable. Most have power steering and shuttle shift.

Re: Landhope series ?\'s

Kays Supply brings up a good point. Hope no one took offense to my earlier comments on the TU205F, as they were not meant to offend anyone with a TU. Just trying to be honest about my experience. I don't think the TU series was designed with a loader in mind. As a rice tractor, it would be hard to beat. Mine works great with a brush hog, is great with a tiller. I use it with a rear blade (pull only) with excellent results in snow. The loader has been great and the tractor has sufficient power for it, but the frame is inadequate from the factory. I keep my TU because it's a great tractor, but I have no illusions about the frame. My frame modifications have worked well, but I also realize they may be beyond the average person. I have a full machine shop and metal fabrication tools. My Iseki cost me $3600 USD with a new (one year old) loader on it. The previous owner lost about $5000 in one year when he sold me the tractor. Would I do it again? Absolutely, but I simply can't recommend it to someone without the warning.

By the way, if you have a broken or cracked TU, I would be more than happy to share 'how to' photos with anyone wanting to fix it.

Re: Landhope series ?\'s

Properly set up they are a great tractor even with a loader but you do have to modify them. Set up by somebody that has no experience could get expensive as your tractors prior owner found out. One advantage they do have is a short wheelbase, we have sold quite a few TU205 models as TLB's and they have a real advantage getting into tight spots.

I have never had a problem getting parts though. I might not like the price when they arrive :) but they are available.

Re: Landhope series ?\'s

Hi Chris,

I tried to post photos of the frame modifications, but my photos were rejected (600 kb). Not sure why this is happening. If you would like to email me at tbrach@telus.net, I could send you photos directly.
