I was out mowing yesterday and wouldn't you know it on the last strip the belt came off. No biggie I pulled the guards and there laying on the top of the deck was the drive pulley.

I was looking at replacement, the part is fairly cheap, but my question for you is should I pull the whole gear box or just attempt to remove the castle nut while mounted. I am concerned about messing up the seal on the gearbox while trying to get it off. I am hoping that, as there is a key retention, that the nut wasn't spun on by a gorilla.

Any tips or tricks to this?

Thanks in advance!

It's much easier to do it with the gearbox off. It requires some patience maneuvering it back in to place but its the best way to do the job
