Has anyone seen this problem...my 2yr old Landpride rear discharge mower doesn't discharge anything out the back, or sides, or anywhere for that matter?! It cuts well and the lawn looks good but I have to pressure wash the deck every time I use it. Sometimes the clippings are packed 2" thick. I mow 2 acres, never wet, always run at 540 rpm. I tried adjusting height and angle of deck but to no avail. I've also tried cleaning the deck and spraying it with silicon. It has done this since day 1 and I figured I was doing something wrong. Any ideas?

I went rfm shopping today and ran into this same issue when comparing a woods and land pride. The woods with rear discharge and optional chains runs about $200 more than the landpride but isn't it worth it to have an opening for the grass clippings to actually escape? Since no land pride owners responded to this thread I can only assume sawduster is correct and this is a design flaw.

I have a 72" Woods PRD7200 rear discharge with chains on the back. I have never seen it discharge out the back. The deck doesn't plug up any more than any other that I have owned.

I have a woods rm90 finish mower and it never "discharges" out the back. It will cut the grass and it pretty much stays where it is, so when you are moving it kind of "rolls" out of the back. I wouldn't say that I get excessive build up under the deck either.

I sell Landpride parts for several dozen FDR series mowers and haven't heard that complaint. How tall is your grass and how close to the ground are you mowing? Are your wheel spacers set so the deck is level fore & aft?

My FDR2560 discharges nicely out the rear. There is a baffle in front of the blades on mine- might that be missing on the one being complained about?

I have land pride fdr1660 and cut an old hayfield no problem. Even when it's over my boots. It blows a little out the back but not much. Try cutting it a little higher is my only suggestion besides contacting land pride directly.
