I have a 1584 landscaping rake from Land Pride. Very sturdy built and I use it for grading the driveway; does a great job. They make good stuff.

As Inspector507 suggests, check out the Midwest box blades. You may also want to look at a dealer by the name of Corriher Implement Co., Inc., http://www.corimpco.com

I just purchased a Midwest BB2072 (6' box) from them. These are labeled with the Corriher logo. According to a previous thread, they sometimes carry different lines, but when I asked about the manufacturer, they advised it was Midwest without any hesitation. Now I don't know if this just happened to be one of the times that they had the Midwest blades in stock or they only deal in Midwest blades. Regardless, ask and they will tell. Oh yeah, you can get a color to match your tractor if you so desire.

Price for the box blade was $360 plus $50 shipping to a local truck terminal. Home delivery (tailgate) is available but more $.

As for service, I ordered it Wednesday morning and it got here today. Not too shabby.

Don

EDIT: Sorry to repeat what Larry posted, I guess I just didn't read far enough before I jumped in!

I have a 60" landpride and am very satisfied with it. I have used it on a 39 HP MF and a 33HP JD. When used correctly you can't tear it up. You can build roads with this boxblade. I use it to clean up skidder trails in the woods. Landpride makes top of the line equipment. I bought mine at auction for $250.

I have a LandPride 7' hydraulic rear blade. Very stout. Only issue was one of the blade locking pin handles fell off because someone forgot to weld it completely after tacking it to the pin.

I've been cutting in an 800 foot driveway with a LandPride BB2572 and a RB3584. Both implements were made in Canada. The conditions are clay, rock and roots (oak, poplar, locust and hickory). The depth varies from several inches to approximately 40 inches. They have been stressed to the point where you get off the tractor to go see how bad you bent it up - nothing was bent or damaged. The shanks on the box blade stay sharp and with a little expertise you can shave through a root. I think it boils down to the metallurgy and heat treatment of the steel used in the manufacturing of the implement. Design problems are usually corrected quickly, but the metallurgy remains hidden. The quality of steel LandPride uses seems to hold up under stress. LandPride's paint jobs are not that good. Search the achieves to see if anyone has had any problems with LandPride products.

I just bought a 72 inch LandPride boxblade with my Century tractor. My dealer sold it to me at his cost for $488. He said he makes his money on the tractor and the implements are just to make the customer happy. I'm in East TX and that included what he paid for shipping. Might be more in NY.

Just wanted to know where you got your information that your Land Pride implements were made in Canada. Well there not, they are made in either Abilene or Kipp Kansas. Both cities are just outside Salina Kansas. I live in Salina and know a lot of people who work there. I realize that your post is a few years old but just would like people to realize that not everything built well is imported.

I've got a LandPride 2572 rotary cutter along with an RB3584 rear blade. Indescructable units as is all their equipment.

As my dealer said...LandPride is the Cadillac of attachments; and he sells LandPride, Woods, BrushHog, etc.

I have had a 2596 LandPride for about 20 ayears. It has worked fine. The LandPride's get heavier and stronger as you go up in series, 15,25,35...

The heavier the better as far as getting work done assuming your tractor can handle it. The price goes up a lot with series. 20 years ago mine was quite a bit over $1000.

I have a RCR1872 rotary cutter and a RB3584 rear blade. Both are excellent top quality items. I would love to own more and probably will at some point especially now that they are available in orange. That said, I am starting to feel that unless you making money (READ: getting some sort of return) with them they are a bit steep in price. You do get what you pay for I believe but I don't think my projects need their level of quaility with there being other high quality brands out there as well. In my area all the landscaping companies are using LP. I recently have been eyeing Befco at one of the local dealers. I have no experience but from the looks of it and just "kicking" their rakes, PHD, and BB around in the supply yards they look pretty nice. I did look at some Midwest stuff but there are virtually no dealers in my area plus I like the look of the Befco stuff better.
