I've wanted a gauge wheel for the box blade for a while and finally got around to putting one together. I had the solid wheel and A frame left over from my front mount brush hog project and figured it would make a perfect gauge wheel. All I had to do was figure out how to set up a mount on the box blade and the landscape rake, that would allow me to use it on both. Finally got it done and I have to say this makes using those implements SO MUCH better. Very happy with how much easier it is to fine tune the amount of material I want to move plus I can leave the 3PTH in float and set the wheel height to just scrape in the low spots and then it will cut the high spots down. Much better for cutting the highs and pulling them into the lows. The difference is amazing. Especially having the top and tilt now.

Yes, I agree 100 percent! Have gauge wheels on my box blade and rake also. They double the usefulness of the tools, in my opinion.
The 3PH float lets the tractor go over humps and thru dips while the blade stays level.

That's pretty sweet looking.

The only drawback to gauge wheels is it usually makes reversing the rake or blade impossible.

I cut the tubes for my gauge wheels on my rake to add extensions and was planning one day to add receivers to my grader blade. The original spacing on the wheels had them too close to the rake for my liking.

I wasn't sure about the spacing of the wheel and thought it might be too close to the rake / box blade but after using it for a while I think the spacing is fine. More use will tell for sure.

With this setup I can spin the landscape rake around and use it in the reverse position. The mount for the wheel is attached to the main frame and sits above the actual rake assembly. Of course I could always lift the wheel and travel in reverse.:)

Yeah your rake is a much better design and stronger than mine. Nice setup!
