(B2620, had BX22) Simplicity Legacy w/48" mmm
I have a Kubota B2620 and have been looking at landscape rakes. Dealers have suggested both 5', and 6' rakes for that tractor, and I'm sure that both will work. I'm wondering about actual experience with both sized rakes on the smaller B series tractors, both older, and new. Does anyone find the 6' cumbersome, and do any folks find the 5' lacking in covering the tire tracks when angled, etc. Any comments are welcome.

I just sold my 6' rake. I thought it was too small. I couldn't imagine getting anything done with a 5'.

Get the 6'. Worst case scenario is you could remove some tines and hack 6" off the ends after you decide it's too big.

Make sure you get the measurement of both rakes at full angle to see if they cover your track width before you decide.

Yes, it will take a 6' rake to cover the back tires at 45 degrees, a 5' rake will cover them at 30 degrees. I don't see any of your equipment that would work with a 6' rake either.

Get the 6 foot rake, the tractor can handle it easily.
I have a B2620 and a 6 foot rake and it is a great match.

The tractor struggles a little bit when dragging a full rake of soil up a hill but it is a full rake of soil being pulled up hill.

We had a young moose come down our road last night.
You can see my tractor with the rake on it.

Good input on the rake, thanks. I saw a nice bull, and a smaller one last fall behind my house..... Carefull of that young one though, mom can get pretty upset around them. I hear in Alaska that the cows are more of a problem this time of year than the bulls are in the fall.

I do appreciate the input Builder, and I think you guys are right for sure. I got thinking of storage space, and a couple of tight places on my woods trails. I can angle the rake in the tight places, and storage doesn't matter if the rake doesn't work as well as it should. Besides cleaning up along the edges of my road, and woods, I do have some pretty big areas to cover eventually as I smooth things up a bit with the piles of loam I have.

Chuck,

My brother had a B2400 and we used a 6' rake on that often-it worked well. I have a Woods Estate 5' model that I used on my BX. I'll use it behind my 2620, but if I get a big project I'll get the 7' rake my brother has now-I'm sure the tractor would manage.

Used 5' rake on 48" wheel base...work okay, ditching tho about half of the tractor had to be in or near ditch edge, and more hand action for leveling needed if tire roll over high point.
I like to keep all wheels on flat surface and angle attachment as needed.
