Thanks GT48DXLS for the link to Steve Pake's very thorough article. It was not only very informative, but also humorous while being truthful, although I haven't had such great experience with Honda's push-type gas powered mowers. Bottom line in his article is - forget electric mowers, at least for now. Not ready for Prime Time.

Cub Cadet makes a line of electric mowers and ZTs that are priced fairly close to gas models.

Unless it's made with defective parts a gas mower should not need carbs or ignition coils or anything other than regular oil changes and air filter cleanings. And blade sharpenings but an electric would need that as well.
