... now it's just a matter of time. The re-inspection has been completed today and the buyer has jumped through the last of her hoops as well. In five to ten days and we'll close on the sale of our old house. I am exhausted!

Good luck, Edward. My wife and I sold her old house and property last year. The financial "magicians" kept finding more hoops in their closet all the way up to the closing date. Two days before the closing, my poor wife was in tears because they put "hoops inside of hoops" in an ever-tightening attempt to squeeze her for all they could get. Hopefully soon you will be able to put all the stress behind you and put a close to the unpleasant surprises. Be sure to let us know when it happens.

We purchased a house that borders our property this summer. It seemed like every week they were setting up hoops and we were jumping through them. Like Jim said, the hoops were still being set up the day before closing. I stood up at the closing table (after the docs were all signed) and announced that this was the most horrific process I had ever experienced in my life and never planned to go through it again.

Selling a house in this market should warrant you guys some kind of medal, congrats.

My mother bought a repo'd mobile home for my little sister, actually was a good price for a double wide with 3 acres, but it took almost 3 months to finalize.

My mother has steller credit, (which my sis has a problem with) It was amazing how many stupid forms and questions that came up from the lender and it was their repo! This MH set empty for 9 months and they couldn't get over the fact that my mom wanted another home.

Seems they went from give a loan to anyone, whether they want it or not, too, we need to know why your great great super great granddaddy rented a room on the mayflower and for what purpose.

I was simply amazed at the crazy stuff the lender was asking. I had to submit a formal letter stating why I was buying more property so close to where I already live. DUH! The appraiser submitted photos with his appraisal (appraisal was higher than selling price) and the lender wanted the carpet cleaned, rooms painted, etc. before they would close the loan. That's when I lost it. These were all the things I was going to do to the house AFTER I bought it. If the seller was willing to do those things he would have already done them and would be asking a higher price for the house! I was told in the beginning that we would be able to close in 2 weeks, we barely made it in 2 months.
