Finally bitting the bullet:eek:.....worked out a deal with a local dealer on a new BX25 for $15,500 which includes the 3 point hitch. A couple of questions.....
1....how difficult is it to match up heavy duty implements for the point hitch. I'm needing a PHD that will last.
2....Also I have a 1/4 mile hard packed drive way, is a box scraper or a blade better for this and is there a good HD one out there?
3....Does the BX24 have a true Cat 1 4 point hitch, or is it considered the limited 1 hitch, if so How limited is it compared to the 2320?
Hopefully will get it delivered first of the week...thanks for everyones help!!

The BX series really works best with 3-point implements designed for subcompacts (as does the 2320). It will limit you a bit - especially when buying used implements. However the BX machines are great workhorses and if it is otherwise the right size, I wouldn't hesitate for a moment.

Sounds like a great price.

1) For a subcompact tractor like the BX you really don't need or want HD 3pt attachments. There are post hole diggers that are made specifically for subcompacts. (ex: Woods PHD25 or Land Pride PD10)

2) As above, a box blade made for a subcompact is best (ex: Woods GBC48 or Land Pride BB05)

3) Yes, it has a true cat 1 hitch. The only 3pt limitation is the lift height due to the size of the tractor and tires.

When you step up to a small 20 series "B" model like the 2320 you gain a 3 speed hydro, larger tires and thus more ground clearance. Depending on the tractor usage that may or may not be a plus. One negative of the smaller "B" models is the mid pto and rear pto spin at the same time. Thus if you want to run say a PHD the mower is going to be engaged as well if attached. The BX models do not have that issue or the larger 30 series "B" models as both the mid PTO and rear PTO can be engaged together or separately.

Congrats on your new toy I mean tool :D

I paid 15500 for my BX23 new.
It came with FEL BH 60'' MMM and 3 point hitch.
The attachments made for them are fine.
Have fun with it.

Not so. The rear can be run separately. It's either both mid and rear, rear only, or neither.

Most moderate sized 3PH attachements can be used..As was stated earlier, height is the only limit. Even that isn't so bad.

I have a similar driveway. To mantain the gravel, I bought a gravel rake, it works really well and evendly distributes the gravel without dragging it around too much.

Hooking up the attachments isn't that bad..A little playng around and a little muscle is all that's necessary. Installing the lift arms is a bit of a puzzle, but not a big deal either. You you have to remove the arms to put the BH on, so that can get alittle annoying depending on what you're doing...Still beats paying someone!!!:D:D

I own a BX25 and the others are right, you do not want HD attachments as they really are not made for your tractor. I also have a Land Pride BB05 Box Blade as mentioned in this post and for the most part it seems stout enough for anything I am throwing at it.

I guy up the road from me runs a property maint company with a BX2350 and he uses PH digger pretty much everyday and works the rig hard without any complaints.

You will be happy with your decision.

Cheers,
