Last Payment Whew

I am getting ready to make my last payment on my 3520 tractor this month. I don't know who will be happier, my wife or me. I got laid off at the end of last year so things are a little tight. I'm happy to see this payment go by the wayside. It's a good thing that my wife works and the kids are out on their own. Oh well it gives me the time to catch up on things at home. The job prospects look pretty grim around here so I take it day by day. I have plenty of things to keep me busy so I guess I am luckier than some. I am sure that things will improve soon because I'm always optimistic and I haven't been wrong yet. I was trying to think if I had any questions or problems to discuss but I can't think of any. The only thing I wish my tractor has would be the drive over deck. Its kind of hard to wrestle the 5ft 7-Iron deck on and off. Oh well enough gripping for one day.

the only two topics in your thread is losing your job and having to wrestle your mower deck on......and you chose to gripe about the mower deck

Congratulations on making your last payment ! Things aren't much better anywhere else........ I've barely had any work to do since Christmas. My wife and I are getting by OK though, like yourselves. I'm not terribly worried either..... afterall, I've never NOT made ends meet !

I paid my little bad boy off two weeks ago and got the cancelled contract in the mail over the weekend. Though things are good for us it is nice to be done with payments. Being new to the tractor thing, and having never had a boat, it felt like a lot of money to borrow for something that I couldn't drive to work. Three years later it has been a good purchase and I enjoy having it. There are a lot of folks on this site always trying to talk a fella into buying a larger tractor. I have always maintained that the best tractor is the one that you can afford. Best wishes on finding a new job. I hope that you can find plenty of tractor projects to fill your time. Hopefully some day you will look back on this time and think fondly of all the cool stuff that you were able to do.

I made my last payment a few months back. It felt nice. My 2305 has paid for itself many times over. Besides the home we built, it is by far one of best investments I have made to help us get settled on our property.

Making payments on a boat, street bike, or jet ski - to me, would have been consinder money down the drain (although they are fun - but I prefer to own a tractor and good tools).

I paid mine off,,,,,,,and sold my 4100 and went out and bought a 2720....2 more years of payments now...and I dont think I will out grow my 2720 like i did my last machine!
