Hi all,After a lenghty and very trying complete rebuild of my YM2200 ,I'm lost on how to set my valves.Any one know the procedure, and the clearences? Thanks Jim
Since no one else has answered your question I will take a stab at it. I recently rebuilt the engine on my YM1700. Take a look at this Hoye Tractor Support :: View topic - valave adjustment It is the simplest explanation that I have ever seen and it worked for me. Of course you will need to clearance specs for your engine.
I know this won't be very useful since I own an Iseki TS1610F with a 2 cylinder Isuzu motor (975cc), but as some sort of comparison, the valve adjustment on mine when cold is 0.0177-in. for both intake and exhaust.
For those used to working on U.S. engines with valve clearences close to the .02" range, clearences in the range of .005" seems way too small.
The U.S. is sorta unique in having valve clearences this much and still not be noisy. Something closer to .005 is very typ for non-U.S. engines. At least that is what I've found over many yrs of working on engines from various countires.
