I've been putting some of my old barn wood to good use. These are my latest creations. I will be doing these in custom colors...JD green, IH red, NH blue, Kubota orange, etc. Perfect place to hang your favorite farm hat.

You know how hard it is to find insulators without a great big MADE IN CHINA formed right on front? Lol...but I did finally find some plain ones. The first rack I made similar to this was a result of finding a couple of old porcelain insulators in a drawer in my Dad's old shop. I had just just the boards and thought they might look interesting as accents. This was the result:

Greg,

To tell the truth, I like the "distressed" hooks better than the colored ones -- they seem to be a better fit to my eye.

I don't have any fencing on my farm, so I don't spend any time to speak of on the fencing aisles of farm supply stores. I didn't even know that folks are still using porcelain insulators -- the only ones I have noticed are the yellow plastic type.

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

My latest barn wood project. When I was on the volunteer fire department, we burned a house that had one wall "paneled" in old chestnut barn boards up to 16 inches wide. I scarfed a pile of them before we lit it off and stashed them in my garage.

The bird is the one my daughter shot last fall and had mounted. Pretty bad when your daughter is a better (and more avid) hunter than you are.

That looks great!
